Personal Care Aide -- free training

Helping someone in need is a personally satisfying thing to do, and having this as your job can enrich your life in more ways than just the paycheck.

If you have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, and would like to become certified to work with older adults or others needing assistance with daily living, there is a free program to train you to become a Personal Care Aide (PCA).

The #OhioStrongPCAtraining Program is from the Area Agency on Aging. You would fill out an application and send to them. After being approved, you will then be trained as a Certified Nurse Aid (CNA). Training includes a minimum of 75 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on training. A virtual job fair will be held at the end of the program. The need for Personal Care Aides is great and jobs are available.

There is no cost to apply, and the training will be funded by an Area Agency on Aging grant.

See this document for details on the program and the training.
