The Greene County Council on Aging is a county-wide organization which promotes independence and quality of life for Greene County, Ohio senior citizens and caregivers
Your Council continues to monitor the ever-changing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and we encourage Greene County seniors, caregivers and community members to stay informed and safe. The CDC has identified older adults and people with chronic medical conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, and kidney disease, as having a higher risk for more serious COVID-19 illness.
For Council programs, services, and operations, we are taking precautions against the spread of the virus. These precautions include the cancellation of classes, presentations and activities. Participants will be notified and cancellation information will be included and regularly updated on our website and Facebook page. Our care managers are in contact with our seniors and caregivers, while working with our service providers regarding necessary modifications to the services provided through the Council.
The senior centers operated by the Council (Bellbrook and Jamestown) will be closed through April 3rd. The Council’s Xenia and Beavercreek offices remain open and open to the public as scheduled. The other senior centers in Greene County have made changes in response to COVID-19, from cancelling large events and activities to closing for a period time. For more information, please contact the specific center directly.
As more information is available and as additional direction is provided from County, State and/or National entities, we will reevaluate and make appropriate changes. We encourage you to seek out additional information through reliable resources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), and Greene County Public Health (GCPH).
