The Delta coronavirus variant is more contagious than earlier variants. Unvaccinated people are at high risk of getting and spreading Covid and could require hospitalization. Vaccinated people can also get the Delta variant (although symptoms are generally mild) and can spread it to others. Wearing a mask in public and crowded spaces can prevent spreading the disease, especially to children under 12 who cannot yet be vaccinated. Read more from CDC
