COVID-19 Vaccinations & Boosters

Updated 9/22/2022

A new vaccine is available. This new version is bivalent, meaning it targets both the original strain and the BA.4 and BA.5 omicron subvariants. The CDC recommends that everyone 12 and older should receive this updated version, regardless of number of doses received thus far.

If you are immunocompromised, receiving cancer treatments, or have received certain organ transplants, ask your health care professional about a new drug that provides additional protection: Evusheld developed by AstraZeneca with help from government funding.

If you contract Covid, ask your health care professional about Paxlovid -- a post-infection treatment from Pfizer that seems to sharply reduce the chances a Covid illness will be come sever. It is most effective when prescribed shortly after symptoms begin. Paxlovid is only authorized for high-risk people, including those 65 and older.
